University of Westminster seminar: K-content's Global Success and the Crisis of Korean Broadcasting
About this event
Dr Namdoo Kim of the Korea Information Society Development Institute gives a free seminar at the University of Westminster's Marylebone Campus on 15 October 2026 (5-7pm), organised by the university's Communication and Media Research Institute. The talk examines the contrast between K-content's growing global visibility and the structural difficulties facing Korean broadcasting at home - audience fragmentation, falling ad revenue, competition from OTT platforms and rising production costs - and connects these to broader questions of public service media, media diversity, platformisation and national media policy.
