User Manual for a Broken Machine is a 75-minute interdisciplinary performance by KASSNA (music by Seayool), staged at Holy Cross Church on 9-10 October 2026 (7:00-8:15pm) as part of Bloomsbury Festival. Using a broken Daewoo vacuum cleaner and its instruction manual as a metaphor for Korean industrialisation, diaspora and migration, the piece blends text, movement, sound and fragments of Korean traditional music as a performer reads, repeats, mistranslates and gradually becomes the broken machine she is trying to fix.
